### **Aluminum Phosphide (56% Tablets) – Fumigant Insecticide**

**Mode of Action:**

– Releases **phosphine gas** (PH₃) when moist – inhibits cellular respiration, killing pests via oxygen deprivation.

**Target Pests:**

– **Stored grain pests** (weevils, beetles, moths), **rodents**, **termites** (in burrows/soil).

**Key Features:**

– **Highly penetrative** – gas diffuses through grain bulks/soil.

– **No residue** post-aeration; **non-systemic**.

– **Rapid action** (24–72 hrs for complete kill).

**Use:** **Hermetically sealed** storages/soil fumigation.

**Dosage:** 1–2 tablets/ton grain; 10–20 g/m³ space.

**Caution:**

– **Extremely toxic to humans** – use with respirator.

– **Banned in some countries** – check regulations.

**Note:** Strictly for **professional use** – improper handling can be fatal. Alternatives: *Neem oil* or *diatomaceous earth* for organic storage.
