**Emamectin** is a semi-synthetic insecticide derived from avermectin, effective against lepidopteran pests like armyworms, bollworms, and diamondback moths. It acts on the nervous system by enhancing glutamate-gated chloride channels, causing paralysis and death. Used in cotton, vegetables, and soybeans, emamectin has strong translaminar and residual activity. It is highly toxic to aquatic organisms but has low mammalian toxicity. Resistance management is advised due to its specific mode of action.
