### **Metaldehyde (5% GB) – Molluscicide**

**Mode of Action:**

– **Disrupts mucus production** in slugs/snails, causing dehydration and paralysis.

**Target Pests:**

– **Slugs**, **snails** (field & garden pests).

**Key Benefits:**

– **Fast-acting** (kills within hours).

– **Rain-resistant pellets** for prolonged field efficacy.

– **Low phytotoxicity** to crops.

**Applications:**

– Broadcast **granules (5–10 kg/ha)** or bait stations.

**Crops:** Vegetables, cereals, ornamentals.

**Caution:**

– **Highly toxic to pets/wildlife** – secure bait stations.

– **Banned in some countries** (EU 2022) – use iron phosphate alternatives.

**Note:** For organic farming, consider **Ferric Phosphate** (slower but safer).
